Boozetunes Presents - Bab El Ain Grandes Exitos

Babelain is another one of the pseudonyms that hides behind one of the greatest musical geniuses of the last fifty years.
Born in North Africa, his family had to emigrate to the United States, and there through the streets of Greenwich Village, he met a young singer/songwriter named Robert Zimmerman, with whom he sang in any place they were allowed to; so enormous was Robert’s admiration for Babelain that he changed his name to Bob Dylan, a clear reference to Babelain: Bab-Elain.
Soon he moved to London and met a new band that did not fully define its sound, the Kinks, and thanks to their involvement and that touch of brilliance of his tambourine play, he  became the "fifth Kink", participated in all their albums up to "Face to Face".
Then came his spiritual era and he took a trip to India, where he spent many years as a disciple of Guru Maharishi, totally dedicated to religion; but one day by chance he heard on Bombay "Anarchy in the UK" that awoke him out of his lethargy. Back again in London, he contacted Johnny Rotten and so went writing the lyrics for the group, without revealing his identity.
Bored by the excesses of sex, drugs and rock n’ roll, he retires from music and moves to Tunis, where he occupies himself with strolling tourists on camels, until he gets bored again, so with his savings he moves back to the United States.
He settles in Seattle where he meets Kurt Cobain and both decide to form a band called "Nirvana"; Babelain composed all the songs, but shortly before recording their first LP "Bleach", Kurt Cobain discovers Babelain making love to his girlfriend; they have a huge discussion, so Babelain leaves the band and Kurt steals all the songs composed by him.
Disillusioned by the world of Rock n’ Roll, he stops in Nerja, southern Spain, and dedicates himself to composing and releasing albums all over the world, using different pseudonyms, achieving great successes in the Austro-Hungarian Empire, where he was stringing Number 1’s without stopping.
There he begins to develop an interest in other art forms such as literature, and photography, publishing and exhibiting worldwide.
He still writes songs for his own albums and some requests by rock stars such as Van Morrison and Bruce Springsteen, who turn to him when they see that their inspiration has come to an end.
This is a brief biography of this character, he is currently engaged in a multi-artistic blog: Toto-Vaca in , where you can find his albums and his complete literary and photographic production.
This "Grandes Exitos" has been recently # 1  in Greece and contains a small sample of his latest compositions. Enjoy them !

Seems to be "Bab El Ain day" or so, since there are also some news in his blog.
I like his way a lot, always making assorted songs out of any market or trend, just for fun... his and ours...
